Madrid -- Real Madrid made a surprising decision. They fired Rafael Benitez just 188 days after he commanded to become Madrid's coach. Benitez will replaced by Madrid's "legend", Zinedine Zidane, which already confirmed by Madrid's president, Florentino Perez.
During his era in Madrid, Benitez made some "sins". He cannot brought Madrid to play well against rival team (lost from Barcelona 0-4), he made Madrid being disqualified from Copa del Rey, and also defensive tactics that already criticized a lot by their fans.
In the last match against Valencia, the supporters already scream and demanded that Benitez and Perez must out from Madrid. They seemed unpleasant with Madrid's performance in recent time.
In IST opinion, it quite risky to choose Zidane to replace Benitez. It is because Zidane still have little experience in coaching job. He just train Real Madrid B in his coaching career. But, another Madrid's "legend", David Beckham, said that the choosing of Zidane is a good choice because Zidane has a great influence to Madrid since he become a player.
From player to coach, can ZIZOU do it ?
Zidane said that he will try present TROPHIES for Madrid in this running season. Madrid still have 2 competition on progress. Champions league and La Liga itself. Mathematicaly, Madrid still possible to win league, but it need much consistency and hardword, and hope that Barcelona or Atletico will slipped during the second half of league.
Zidane also made a new record. He is the FIRST french nationality person who ever to become a coach for Madrid. Now, we just wait for his performance. If he cannot bring great result, we will not surprised if he will sacked also. Or he will become like Diego Simeone for Atletico (success being player and coach).
